Hello there. I’m really happy to introduce to you the spanking new website, Food Jams – and the partners in crime behind the magic.
The most exciting news is that I have been introduced to a master of words, investigator and the brain behind the articles on this website. We met through One Dog Chicken’s (ODC) Lesedi Rudolph and I am delighted to have her on the team. I’ll leave it to you to see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
In the next few weeks Food Jams is going to dish you some saucy servings by a team of people who are brilliant at what they do. With articles and investigations by Natalie and juicy new videos by the one-and-only ODC, expect great things. Food Jams is all about collaboration – maybe one day we will have the chance to work with you.
In the meantime we hosted a Food Jam at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate with our team-building partners, Sizwe, Angelyn and Lisa. We had 6 dishes and over 30 pairs of festival-goers and Food Jammed up a storm as part of the Ommiberg Festival.
We’re looking forward to some great events coming up this weekend. On Thursday night expect an unofficial invasion of the city. We will be dining, guerilla style, at Infecting the City on Church Square with Charl and John Edwards.
Friday night is dim sum making class with Yang Zhao (aka Beijing Opera) orchestrating a party in the mouths of the Confucius Institute members.
Saturday afternoon I’ll be braaiing up a storm (yep, you read it!) at the Boschendal/Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck Festival alongside some of my favourite South African chefs and mentors.
This weekend is also the Eat Out Awards happening at the Old Biscuit Mill, so be sure top check that out!
Saturday evening we’re back home Food Jamming with a group of ladies and their soon-to-be-bride. Here’s to a crazy weekend, doing what we love!
Don’t worry, we’ll be back soon.
