Last year Russel Hlongwane, (founder of the FKNG Dinner Club) hosted us in his hometown, Durban. This year it was our turn.The opportunity to collaborate in Durban arose when Russel unabashedly sent me a mail, introducing his concept and his interest in collaborating. Fast-forward a few weeks down the line, and we were Food Jamming with recipes inspired by my travels prior to our meeting (I was on route to Mozambique for a consultation with a restaurant), with amazing friends and strangers together in a beautiful house in Glenwood. The Food Jam started with an ingredient-hunting adventure, all of which can be seen in the video shot by Wandile Mnguni and produced by One.Dog.Chicken. Productions. Ever since, I’ve been working on Russel to come down to Cape Town, this time for Food Jams to host a Fork, Knife & Glass dinner. I really great friend, Aom, cooked a traditional Thai dinner and Russel and I invited a host of people we like and wanted to spend an evening of good food and drink with.
