Foodie Fun at the Boschendal/Jan van Riebeeck Festival Gourmet Braai on Saturday 16 March

Pamflet A5 ENG jpeg fin 211x300 Boschendal Jan van Riebeeck Festival Foodies will be in for a treat on Saturday 16 March at 12:00 when some of Cape Town’s most celebrated Chefs get together to prepare a Gourmet Braai for 400 guests at the popular annual Boschendal/Jan van Riebeeck Festival, which will take place at the Jan van Riebeeck High School Sports Field (De Hoop Avenue) in Tamboerskloof.

In the celebrity chef line-up will be talented father and son duo Rudi Liebenberg, Executive Chef of the Mount Nelson Hotel (Sunday Times Chef of the Year 2012) and Marcel Liebenberg (Pick n Pay Schools Chef Challenge 2012 Winner), together with George Jardine from Jordan; Jason Comins from The Table at De Meye; Roberto De Carvalho from Roberto’s; and Pierneef La Motte’s Chris Erasmus, joining Loraine Heyns from Spier; Oscar Foulkes from Dish Social; Paul Hartman (SA Chefs Academy); and Jade de Waal from Food Jam around the braai fires.

There will be other interesting food stalls at the festival too, including the hamburger, boerewors and prego roll stall, where Jan Braai himself will be lending a hand. Exciting activities for the whole family include an early morning 7km Fun Run and 17km Lions Head Trail, as well as a Children’s Play area, ZipZap Circus, and a Music Festival with the Radio Kalahari Orkes, Liefste Kayla, Nedine Blom and Spoegwolf performing throughout the day.
